Past Pupils Work

This is the best media coursework about the opening of a thriller movie that I could find on YouTube from past peoples work. 

The first scene is a party scene. This gave me a few ideas and inspirations as to what to do for our our media coursework as we are also doing a party scene but inside the house. There was many elements which created the atmosphere of a party scene which was the flashing lights, the tilted camera angles, the frames being speed up and it being blurry which all created this illusion that she is drunk and doesn't know what she is doing. Also I liked how the music was parallel throughout the film from it being rave type in the party scene to quite in the woods apart from the birds, which gives a sinister feel to that particular part, to it being the sound of a ticking clock or a heartbeat as someone or something is just waiting for her and the music builds this up. I also liked the jittery camera frames when she stands up as it gives the audience the feel that she doesn't know what she has done the night before and is waking up with a hangover. There are also close up shots of her in the woods which shows her emotions really well in the film and finally the echos when she is calling out for help show how alone and deserted she is in the woods and this is also emphasised by her facial expressions and body language of terror.
